This is the risk management plan developed by Julia Taffe, Aeriosa Artistic Director and Colin Zacharias who is an internationally certified mountain guide and has worked in avalanche or guiding operations since 1980. He is also the Safety Director of Aeriosa since 2000.

Colin’s certifications include ACMG/IFMGA/UIAGM (internationally recognized mountain guides associations), SPRAT (rope access), ACTSAFE Fall Protection, ACTSAFE Aerial Lift Operator, and the Wilderness First Responder.

This plan’s goal is to give guidelines to vertical dance practitioners, it doesn’t give rules, it is an exemplary protocol.

Please quote Colin Zacharias and Julia Taffe, should you use any of this material.

This document outlines a generic risk management framework. Organizations can use this as a template to create a site-specific risk management plan for a proposed vertical dance venue. Readers are cautioned that this risk management framework may not be complete or suitable for their purposes. Organizations may be required to include policies, procedures and follow processes that are not outlined in this framework.
